An important Louis XV canapé corbeille (basket sofa) from Louis Delanois. The sofa is made of molded wood, carved with leafy motifs and small flowers, and lacquered in cream. The curved back is finished with two small armrests, and the whole piece rests on eight small curved feet. The upholstery is made of amethyst silk from the Lelièvre House, enhanced with a silk trim. The canapé corbeille is stamped by DELANOIS, indicating its authenticity and origin. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
