A stunning example of early American mission-style furniture. This piece is created from Tiger Oak and features three low drawers with a locking mechanism. The top is solid oak often referred to as “Tiger Oak” named after the grain in the wood that resembles tiger stripes. The solid oak top would be fantastic for displaying perfumes or nighttime essentials. Each of the four legs have casters making it easy to move the piece. The mirror is beveled and original to the piece. At the back, the swivel mirror has locks that can be moved to hold the mirror in place. The joints in each of the drawers are dovetailed or “bow-tie”. Interestingly, this piece came with a handwritten note from the family of the first owner which gives its purchase date and the city in which it resided. 1900, Independance Kansas. This early American mission-style piece would be fabulous for use as a vanity or dresser. Or perhaps even in an entryway or mudroom for holding keys and other items.
The back also features a tag from: Schmitt & Henry MFG. Co.
